The organizers of the reality show, Big Brother Naija (BBN) have announced the return of season 4 of the reality television show.

As a prelude to the kick-off of the show proper, auditions are scheduled to hold at eight locations across Nigeria. This was made known Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at a press briefing in Lagos, Nigeria.

According to the Channels Director MNet West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, individuals who are interested to participate in the show should be above 21 years old.

She also said auditions will hold on February 1, 2019 and February 2, 2019 in the eight locations namely Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, Enugu, Benin, Calabar and Warri.

The season 4 of the Big Brother Naija show will be hosted in Nigeria after 13 years when it was last filmed in Nigeria, the organizers said. The Season 2 and 3 were hosted in South Africa.

According to the MultiChoice Nigeria’s General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Martin Mabutho, the show can successfully hold in Nigeria and attain global standards.

“From a cost perspective, it is always good to share the Big Brother House in South Africa where all the African franchise of Big Brother can make use of the house. Now, we are at the vantage position of hosting the show in Nigeria and give the global standard for which the show is known for. The Big Brother House is currently under construction and will be ready before the kick off,” he said.

Mrs. Mba-Uzoukwu also added that there are challenges faced by the company for every edition of the Big Brother either in South Africa or Nigeria and the challenges are always surmounted with best global practice.

The organizers also revealed that the show will be officially sponsored by Bet9ja. Recall that Payporte headlined the last two seasons as the major sponsor but will give way for Bet9ja as the new headline sponsor for Big Brother Naija.

Speaking also, the Senior Marketing Manager of Bet9ja, Olufemi Osobajo, said the company jumped on the offer as it is in line with the company’s objectives.

“Our core value in Bet9ja is changing lives of the Nigerian youth. We believe the bet ticket holds more power in changing the lives of the youth and Big Brother Naija has done the same thing changing lives of the youth in all the editions of Big Brother. This is why we are supporting,” he said.

After hosting the last two editions- Season 2 and season 3, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as the host of the Big Brother Naija Show Season 4.

The first edition was held in 2006 and was hosted by Olisa Adibua and Michelle Dede. The second edition held in 2017 with Efe Ejeba emerging as the winner.

The third season of the reality show premiered in January 2018 with Miracle Ikechukwu emerging as the winner out of 20 contestants.
