The Elephants of Ivory Coast have failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia after losing 2-0 in Abidjan to Morocco.
This is the first time they have failed to qualify after their first outing in Germany 2016 World Cup.
Their run of three straight finals is over.
Morocco on the other hand has qualified for their fifth World Cup after 19 years.
Their last outing was in France 98.
The Ivorians went into the match needing a win at home against Morroco.

However, Morocco needed just a draw.
Goals from Nabil Dirar and Medhi Benatia in the first half were enough to secure victory for the Moroccans.
The Irony of it was that Herve Renard, the coach of Morocco knocked out his former employers.
He coached the Ivorians to victory in 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Now they will have to try their luck in qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
