The House of Representatives has summoned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita.
The top government officials were summoned to explain their roles in the suspension of some directors of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
Based on the allegation that the suspension of the directors was illegal, the House Committee on Emergency and Disaster Management, at its hearing on Thursday, said it was necessary to hear the side of the story of the government officials.

During the hearing, the suspended directors said they incurred the wrath of government because they were opposed to some of the policies of the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Maihaja.
The suspended directors are Akinbola Gbolahan, director of finance and accounts; Umesi Emenike, director, special duties; and Alhassan Nuhu, director, risk reduction.
Also suspended are Mamman Ali Ibrahim, pilot in charge of air ambulance and aviation unit; Ganiyu Deji, chief maintenance officer; and Kanar Mohammed, director of welfare.
The committee said Magu was invited to brief it on the interim report of its findings in a probe it had carried out over the petition against the officers.
Petitions were said to have been written against the directors, alleging abuse of office.
