Boko Haram: 8 eight soldiers killed in Yobe attack

About eight soldiers were reported to have been killed by members of the terrorists group, Boko Haram, who stormed Sasawa Village in Yobe State on Tuesday.

The number of casualties is not official as the military could not give the exact number of those killed.

According to the spokesman of the 3 Division, Military Base, Damaturu, Kayode Ogunsanya, there was casualty on both sides.

“There was casualty on both sides but I cannot ascertain the number. Men on ground had repelled the attack,” Ogunsanya said.

It was gathered that the terrorists stormed the village in  five Hilux vans around 6:00 pmon Tuesday.

According to a resident of the village, the terrorists attacked the soldiers at sight, killing eight of them and injuring many others.

They were said to have broken into shops and stores and carted food items away.
