The Rector of Igbajo Polytechnic, Igbajo, Osun State, Olaolu Olugbenga, has been arrested for alleged forgery of his doctorate degree certificate.
He was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
According to a statement by the commission’s spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, preliminary investigations carried out by the ICPC had shown that the rector was working with a PhD certificate suspected to be forged.

The suspected forged certificate is said to be that of the University of Ibadan.
The Rector, in the statement he made at the ICPC office in Ibadan, Okoduwa said, insisted that his certificate was genuine.
She informed that if found guilty, the Rector would be violating Section 465 of the Criminal Code and Section 25 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 respectively.
