The panel set up by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) into the rape allegation against Biodun Fatoyinbo the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Thursday said the accused never honoured its many invitations.
Bishop Emmah Isong gave the hint on Thursday while speaking with newsmen in Lagos.
He, however, said that Busola Dakolo and her husband, Timi, attended several meetings of the panel.
Mr. Isong said the pastor’s refusal to honour invitations extended to him made the panel’s investigation inconclusive.
According to him, the panel met several times with many parties conneted with the case.
“The panel met for over one month and interfaced with parties involved in the matter,” Mr. Isong said.
“Unfortunately, several attempts to meet Pastor Biodun of COZA Church, who is one of the important parties in this matter failed despite efforts by the fact-finding committee to get his attention.
“Several calls were made but he rebuffed us. He shunned the invitations of the panel to defend himself,” he said.
Mr. Isong, however, said since the accused was absent, it would be impossible for the panel to conclude its investigation.
Due to the failure of Mr. Fatoyinbo to appear before the panel, he said the investigation could not be concluded.
He commended the Dakolos for honouring the panel’s invitations, adding, “The PFN appreciates the respect that Mrs. Dakolo gave in her personal appearance, together with her husband, to state her side of the story.
“As a result of this, the PFN, unfortunately, wishes to announce its inability to come into a conclusion on this matter. We may make a further statement on a later date.
“But certainly, for now, Nigerians and well-meaning people are our witnesses that we have fulfilled scriptural, public and moral expectations as a reasonable and legal organisation.”
Mr. Isong lamented that Mr. Fatoyinbo snubbed the panel despite asking the body to intervene during the heat of the accusation.
