A 57-year-old prophet, Ebenezer Ogunmefun, who sexually abused a 15-year-old girl, has been told to bring his wife as one of two persons to surety him for bail.
The other surety must be a community leader where he lives.
The bail conditions were handed down by an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court where the prophet was arraigned on a one count of sexual abuse on Wednesday.
The fake Prophet, according to the prosecutor, Insp. Moshood Hammed, swore his victim with the bible not to reveal what happened between the two of them.
Hammed told the court that the defendant, whose residential address was not given, committed the alleged offence at No 1, Prof. Ajibo Toluca Pioneer St. in Olomore area Abeokuta.

He further alleged that the defendant, who claims to be a prophet, told the victim’s mother that the 15-year-old girl was possessed by evil spirits and needed ”cleansing.”
He said the offence contravene Section 33 of the Child right’s Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Solomon Banwo admitted the defendant to bail in the sum N750, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that one of the sureties must be the defendant’s wife and the other must be a community leader and subsequently adjourned the matter till Sept. 2 for hearing.
