The governors, representing the six geo-political zones of the country were led by Governor AbdulAziz Yari of Zamfara.

Yari is the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.

According to a report by Sahara Reporter, the president was in good health but did not give a date as to when he would return to Nigeria.

The report added that one of the governors who spoke on the condition of anonymity said President Buhari’s illness had taken a toll on him.

Said the governor:  “Yes, the illness had taken a toll on his health. I did not notice any remarkable change in his voice.”

The governor advised that it would be good for the president to heed the advice of his doctors and not hurry back home.

According to him, the country was already in a safe hand.

“After all, he has left the country in a very capable hand, fiercely loyal, competent, cerebral and unambitious,” he said.

It would be recalled that concern had been expressed over the state of health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Only recently, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo visited him in London where he is on medical vacation.

During the visit, Osinbajo briefed him on developments back home.

Also, some governors and leaders of the All Progressives Congress paid a similar visit after which they spoke well about the health of the president.

The current governors on a visit  are picked from the different zones of the country.

The governors are Dave Umahi (Ebonyi); Umar Ganduje (Kano); Kashim Shettima (Borno); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom) and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo).
