President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to, as a matter urgency, raise economy recovery experts as the nation battles the spread of Coronavirus.
Olusegun Aderemi, community leader and Atayero of Aramoko-Ekiti, warned that the post COVID-19 era could be worse than the pandemic itself, if nothing is put in place to address the backlash.
Aderemi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Autofit and Energy, Lagos, in a telephone chat with journalists, said government must take the recovery plan seriously for it not to lose more people to hunger and poverty in the post Coronavirus era.
The Lagos-based industrialist also urged government to blend the various measures being taken against Coronavirus with the Nigerian customs and tradition.
He hinted that while the advanced countries had the capacity to recover economically, Nigeria might find it very hard, if nothing’s done about the post COVID-19 era.

He said: “It is high time government assembled a team of experts to work on post Coronavirus economic recovery plan. We cannot afford to save the people from Coronavirus and lose them to hunger.
“It is very easy for developed countries to recover. I learnt China has recovered now. But, it may not be easy for countries like Nigeria.”
He also blamed the worrisome situation Nigeria found itself on government negligence.
“Coronavirus is not a Nigerian thing it was brought by a foreigner. And we are not proactive enough to curtail it. So, when the cases reached 30, I knew we are in serious problem because I know it would escalate.
“When you follow the Coronavirus history in Italy, China and the rest, it was when the cases reached 30 that it got escalated. We must be very careful now because we are already in a big trouble.
