There are strong indications that the Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Iyiola Omisore, may have agreed to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the re-run.

The re-run holds on Thursday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the election which was held on Saturday was inconclusive following alleged malpractices in some areas.

As a result, a re-run was scheduled.

In the re-run the battle is a straight one between the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Gboyega Oyeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Ademola Adeleke.

In the inconclusive election, Adeleke ‎scored 256,698, while the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola scored 256,345.

The total number of voided votes is 3498.

The difference between the two leading contestants is 353 votes.

Iyiola Omisore who came third in the election has since become the beautiful bride, having been seen to hold the ace in determining the winner of the re-run which will hold in seven polling units in four local governments – Osogbo, Orolu, Ife North and Ife South.

Omisore who left the PDP following the “decision” of the party to give the ticket to Adeleke against him, has been approached by Senate President Bukola Saraki and other chieftains to get his support for Adeleke.

APC chieftains have also visited him to get him to support the candidate of the party, Oyetola.

However, while he had declared that he had not given his word of support to the PDP, he has tweeted his meeting with Governor-elect of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who came to lobby for Oyeleke.

“With @OfficialAPCNg Ekiti state governor elect @kfayemi during his visit today. #goodgovernanceinosunstate #OsunDecides2018,” he tweeted.

Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu also gave the indication when he tweeted:  “All out showdown in Osun as APC goes all out to woo Senator Omisore’s support in the gubernatorial battle.”

The tweet carries the picture of the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole; Kayode Fayemi, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Lasun; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi and others with Omisore.
