Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto state command has paraded five suspects including an uncle of a seven-year-old victim raped and sodomized by the suspects in the metropolis.

The man and four of his accomplices were paraded for allegedly conspiring to sodomise his seven-year old nephew.

Speaking to journalists, the State NSCDC’s Commandant, Mr. Muhammad Dada, while parading the suspects at a news Conference on Monday in Sokoto, said all the suspects were arrested when neighbours raised alarm over the heinous crime.

Dada said “Our investigation revealed that the uncle of the victim was the first suspect who raped the underage boy and thereafter invited four other persons.

“The command has obtained a court order to further detain the suspects to conclude investigation on their matter before they will be charged to court.”

The commandant advised parents and guidance to often keep close watch over their  children and wards to avoid such heinous crimes from being perpetrated.

He commended the prompt response from members of the public, saying community policing was best for safety and security of the people at all times.
