NiMET predicts sunny, hazy weather for Wednesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday, similarly predicted partly cloudy to sunny morning over Makurdi, Lokoja and Lafia respectively.

It also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 36 and 15 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

It further predicted localised rain showers over Makurdi, Lokoja and Lafia axis and partly cloudy conditions over the remaining parts of the region in the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted that the Southern cities would experience partly cloudy morning over the inland states and cloudy afternoon and evening with slim prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Enugu, Abakaliki, Akure and Ado -Ekiti.

It also predicted cloudy morning over the coastal cities with chances of localised thunderstorms over Uyo, Eket, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, Yenegoa, Lagos and Ijebu-ode in the afternoon and evening hour.

NiMet further predicted that the southern region would experience day and night temperature in the range of 33 to 36 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 37 and 14 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

“There are indications for further improvement in visibility over the country and sunny and hazy conditions over the Northern states and Central cities with slim prospects of localised rain showers over some cities.

“However, localised thunderstorms over the Southern cities are not unlikely in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
