NiMet predicts partly cloudy, sunny hazy weather for Thursday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Thursday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 36 and 18 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the Southern cities would experience cloudy morning with prospect of localised thunderstorms over Umuahia and Owerri, Ikom, Uyo, Calabar, Yenagoa, Port-Harcourt, Ijebu-Ode and Lagos during the afternoon and evening hours.

It also predicted cloudy morning over the coastal cities with chances of localised thunderstorms over Uyo, Eket, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, Yenegoa, Lagos and Ijebu-Ode in the afternoon and evening hours.

NiMet further predicted that the southern region would experience day and night temperature in the range of 32 to 36 and 20 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions with moderate dust haze over Katsina, Kano and Zaria with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 13 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

“The Northern cities are expected to be sunny and hazy, partly cloudy condition over the central states.

“However, the southern cities are expected to be cloudy with chances of localised thunderstorms in most parts of the region in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
