NiMET predicts hazy, mist weather for Thursday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the Central States of the country on Thursday with partly cloudy conditions over Abuja, Lokoja, Lafia and Makurdi.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday, also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 35 and 13 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted early morning mist/fog over Lagos, Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Yenagoa, Calabar and Port-Harcourt with prospects of isolated showers and thundery activities over Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Yenagoa, Calabar and Warri in the afternoon and evening hours.

It also predicted partly cloudy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 34 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy condition throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 34 and 15 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Improved visibility is expected over the northern states as sunny and hazy conditions are anticipated over the region.

“Sunny and hazy conditions are expected to continue to prevail over the North extending down to some parts of the central states and partly cloudy conditions over some central and inland states.

“Also, early morning mist/fog is anticipated with prospects of isolated showers later in the day over coastal cities within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
