NiMet predicts haze, cloudy weather for Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy and cloudy morning over the Central states of the country on Tuesday with increased cloudiness in the afternoon and evening hours.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 39 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

It added that there were slim chances of thunderstorm over parts of Niger, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa states.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning over most parts of inland and cloudy morning over coastal cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Yenegoa, Eket, Uyo and Port Harcourt.

It also predicted scattered thunderstorms over most parts of the region later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 37 and 21 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions with dust haze over Borno, Gombe and Bauchi throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 35 to 39 and 20 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Further improvement in visibility is expected with prospects of some rainfall activities to the south and parts of the central states within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
