NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny weather for Sunday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy, sunny weather conditions over the Central States on Sunday morning with slim chances of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Makurdi, Yola, Jalingo and Mambilla plateau.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Saturday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 41 and 17 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

It added that localised thunderstorms were expected over Abuja, Jos, Kaduna, Lokoja, Lafia and Ilorin during the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning and isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Port Harcourt and Eket with day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 35 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Owerri, Lagos, Akwa, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu, Abakaliki, Asaba, Benin, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and environs later in the day.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience partly cloudy to sunny condition throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 35 to 41 and 22 to 29 degrees Celsius  respectively.

“Partly cloudy to sunny conditions are expected over the Northern cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over some parts of central cities and Southern states in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
