NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny, hazy weather for Monday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Monday with localised thunderstorms over Ilorin, Mambilla plateau and Ibi in the morning hours.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Sunday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 38 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

It added that localised thunderstorms were envisaged over most parts of the central region during the afternoon and evening period.

The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience cloudy morning over Enugu, Abakaliki, Awka, Akure, Oshogbo, Abeokuta and Ado Ekiti with day and night temperatures of 30 to 37 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Eket, Calabar and Port Harcourt with mist/fog conditions over Lagos and Ijebu Ode in the morning.

NiMet further predicted that localised thunderstorms were envisaged over Lagos, Ijebu, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Calarbar, Eket, Oshogbo, Ibadan, Akure, Benin and environs during the afternoon and evening hours.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 35 and 18 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

“It will be dry over the North while increased cloudiness with chances of rainfall activities are expected over the central and south within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
