The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 245 new cases of the Coronavirus disease in the country.
This brings to 2,802 the total number of cases so far confirmed in Nigeria.
Lagos, the epicentre of the disease recorded the highest number of new cases, 76, followed by Katsina and Jigawa with 37 and 32 new cases respectively.
The total number of deaths increased from 87 to 93 while recoveries rose from 400 to 417.
The NCDC noted that nine cases previously reported as recoveries were in error, while one case reported in Nasarawa was a repeat test.
Meanwhile, the five week lockdown in the country was partially lifted on Monday with Nigerians trooping into the streets with complete disregard for social distancing and wearing of face masks, thus raising concerns that the numbers may spike in the coming weeks.

“Nine cases previously announced as discharged cases, were reported in error. Therefore, there are 417 cases that have been discharged.
“One case reported in Nasarawa was a repeat test. The state has a total of 11 confirmed cases.”
