The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party and former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, has been defeated in his polling unit in the presidential election.
Donald Duke came third with six votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar won the day with 291 votes. Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari got 98 votes.
The announcement of the result at the end of collation and counting at about 6 p.m, elicited wild jubilation from the voters.

The South South National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ntufam Hilliard Etta, also lost in that unit; Ward 5, Unit 5 polling unit at Diamond Hill, Calabar, as PDP also won the Senatorial and House of Representatives elections.
PDP won the Senatorial election by 207 votes while APC got 193 votes.
PDP won the House of Representatives election by 215 votes while APC got 140 votes and SDP got six votes.
