The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 499 new cases of Coronavirus infections in the country.
The disease control body confirmed the cases on Thursday, disclosing also that the total number of infections in the has hit 30,748.
The body further announced five COVID-19 related deaths in the country, raising the overall death toll to 689.

On the positive side, the NCDC said 12,546 persons have recovered from the disease upon receiving treatment.
The highest number of new cases was recorded in Lagos which had 157 cases followed by Edo with 59 cases and Ondo with 56.
The new cases were reported from 24 states as follows: Lagos (157); Edo (59); Ondo (56); Oyo (31); Akwa Ibom (22); Borno (21); Plateau (19); Kaduna (18); Katsina (18); Bayelsa (17); FCT (17); Delta (14); Kano (11); Rivers (10); Enugu (8); Ogun (6); Kwara (4); Imo (3); Nasarawa (2); Osun (2); Abia (1); Ekiti (1); Niger (1); Yobe (1).
