President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has promised the cooperation of the National Assembly with the Executive arm of government to ensure that the country is run well.
Saraki made the promise on Tuesday when speaking with journalists, shortly after a dinner President Muhammadu Buhari had with principal officers of the National Assembly at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The dinner was an interactive one.
Saraki said the occasion was one to interact with the president since he returned from his medical vacation.
“As you know, since he got back we have not really had an opportunity to meet with him as part of the stakeholders…

“The meeting was to welcome him, to show our gratitude that he has come back healthy and continue to assure him that we will continue to cooperate with the executive and also to acknowledge the role we played while he was away that brought stability.
“We thank all the members for the patriotic approach they handled the administration’s affairs in his absence,’’ he said.
Saraki also spoke on the 2018 Appropriation Bill.
He said the onus was on the presidency to decide when to present it.
According to him, the document would be accepted and treated once it is presented.
