Wife of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, the vendor killed by a security aide attached to the House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has distanced herself from the N500m compensation demanded by her late husband’s family.
Josephine disowned the family on the demand at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
The Next Edition had reported that the family of Ifeanyichukwu had written to Gbajabiamila, through their lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN)demanding N500m to “mitigate the hardship the loss of their son.”

The letter dated November 23, 2020, was reportedly written at the instance of late Ifeanyichukwu’s father, Okorie Okereke and his younger brother, Destiny Okereke.
The widow, however, said said on Thursday that she was not aware of the pre-litigation process and urged the Speaker to ignore the family and fulfil his promises to her and her two children.
Gbajabiamila had visited Ifeanyichukwu’s immediate family and pledged to support his children’s education until they become adults.
