Mother, 3 Children, 9 Others Die In Ghastly Motor Accident In Benue

The State Commander of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Mohammed Suleiman has confirmed that a mother and her three children have lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident in Otukpo local government area of Benue state.

The Commander who confirmed the incident on phone said nine others also died in the accident bringing the number to 13.

He said the accident occured in the early hours of Tuesday, in Ogodumu village along Otukpo-Adoka road in Otukpo Local Government Area of the State.

As at the time of filing this report, the Road Safety boss in Benue explained, however, said that the command was yet to get full details of the accident from its unit in the area where the incident occured.

Meanwhile, The Next Edition gathered that the victims were travelling in a commercial bus heading to Abuja when the accident occurred leaving a few survivors.

Witnesses said the bus which loaded passengers from Otukpo town was on motion when an articulated truck coming in the opposite direction lost control and rammed into it at Ogodumu.

A witness said that the deceased died on the spot due to the heavy impact of the crash on them.
