Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for selecting Senator Godswill Akpabio as a ministerial nominee.

In a statement issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the party in the state, Ini Okopido and Augustine Ekanem respectively, it expressed confidence in Akpabio’s ability to deliver as a minister.

According to the party, Akpabio “performed marvelously well” as governor of the state for eight years while his senate years were “equally glorious and satisfactory.”

The statement read: “Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the APC wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR on the appointment of Senator Godswill Akpabio as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Senator Akpabio was our governor for eight years and he performed marvelously well in all those eight years.

He is an astute politician, a sterling administrator and effective leader.

“His service as senator between 20I5 and 20I9 was equally glorious and satisfactory.

“We are gratified that the President has appointed a grassroot politician as a Minister.

Based on his pedigree, we believe that Senator Akpabio will contribute effectively to the development of the country and help in further strengthening of our Party in Akwa Ibom State.

“Once again, we congratulate, the uncommon achiever, Senator Akpabio on his appointment and we thank the President for this appointment, which is a reward for hard work, excellence and passion for service.”
