Middle-Aged Man, Popoola, on the Run Over Allegations of Serial Bisexual Conduct

A middle-aged man, Mr. David Abiodun Popoola, is currently evading arrest after being accused of engaging in bisexual practices that have reportedly influenced several of his peers.

Investigations have revealed that Mr. Popoola, despite being married with children, has allegedly been involved in bisexual relationships for many years, a situation that has caused significant embarrassment to his family .

The controversy surrounding Mr. Popoola came to a head earlier this year when police were called following reports from concerned residents in Ajegunle about his activities in IBD hotel.

According to police sources, Mr. Popoola and his alleged lover, Mr. Samuel Abutu, were discovered at the hotel in February 2023.

However, while Mr. Abutu was apprehended, Mr. Popoola managed to flee the scene before authorities arrived.

“We received a distress call from some residents in the area, alerting us that David and his latest male partner were staying at a local hotel in Ilaro,” said a police source who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case.

“When our officers arrived, they found Samuel on the floor, badly beaten and in pain, but David had already escaped.”

The source also mentioned that efforts to locate Mr. Popoola at his workplace and matrimonial home have so far been unsuccessful.

He has reportedly gone into hiding, and his current whereabouts remain unknown. The police have since be on the lookout for Mr. Popoola.

The authorities are determined to apprehend him wherever and whenever he is spotted.

The case has sparked significant attention and concern, particularly given the legal and social implications of bisexual and homosexual practices in Nigeria.

Under Nigerian law, individuals convicted of such practices can face up to 14 years in prison.

The allegations against Mr. Popoola have added to the ongoing debate about LGBTQ+ rights and societal norms in the country.

The situation remains tense, with Mr. Popoola’s family and community grappling with the fallout from the scandal.

As the search for him continues, the case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences by those involved in or accused of same-sex relationships in Nigeria.
