Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has been handed his first call up to the senior France squad, as a replacement for Paul Pogba.
The Manchester United star has withdrawn from Les Bleus’ squad for their upcoming matches.
The World Cup winner played 90 minutes for Manchester United at the weekend, in the 1-1 draw with Southampton, but exited the field with an ankle complaint at full-time.
Pogba has now pulled out of the squad for the fixtures with Albania and Andorra on September 7 and 10 respectively.
As such, Didier Deschamps has elected to promote 20-year-old Guendouzi from the Under-21s.
The all-action Arsenal midfielder was outstanding in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday.
