The Senate ad-hoc committee probing the reinstatement of former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, has said that 222 houses recovered from a pension probe have been shared.
The chairman of the committee, Emmanuel Paulker, made this known on the floor of the Senate on Thursday.
He was moving a motion to investigate the circumstances surrounding the property said to be recovered by the Maina-led task force and handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Said Emmanuel Paulker: “The task force headed by Maina in the course of discharging the mandate recovered about 222 houses investment, portfolio, property from pension suspects in Abuja and other major cities across the country.

“The Maina-led pension reform recovered assets from pension looters, working with the EFCC, ICPC, DSS, police and paramilitary agency staff and then EFCC took charge of the recovered assets.
“The total recovered assets seized from allegedly pension thieves were reported to have been allegedly shared by some interest groups…
”The committee equally received a petition in respect of the recovered property by the task force.”
Following the motion, the Senate approved a probe into the recovered property and asked the committee to report back within four weeks.
