The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, has announced an increase in tuition for students of the school.
The increment which was communicated to students on Monday via mail takes effect in the 2018/2019 academic session.
In the mail, the school authorities said the new academic session would begin on October 29, 2018, informing that indigenes of Osun and Oyo states, owners of the university would pay N200, 000 while non-indigenes would pay N250, 000.

Reacting to the increment however, the students on Tuesday staged a protest locking the gates of the school burning tires in front of the school’s campus in Ogbomoso.
Meanwhile, staff of the school have accused the governments of the owner states of failing to finance the institution while establishing new universities of their own.
