This year’s One Lagos Fiesta is billed to start from Sunday, December 24, 2017 and end on January 1, 2018.
The occasion is arguably the largest celebration of crossover into a new year in Africa, with a record of about 10 million people in attendance in the previous event.
The maiden edition was held last year.
It started December and ended in the first week of January.
This year’s event promises to be bigger than that of last year, according to the Lagos State government.
Addressing journalists at the upgraded Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Special Adviser for Tourism, Arts and Culture, to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Mrs. Aramide Giwanson on Friday said the event would bring about unity and promote the local economy.
“This event, apart from fostering unity is also intended to develop local economy and make it self-sustaining as economic activities during this period, always record unprecedented level in all centers.
“This window also provides opportunities for our local vendors, businessmen, investors as well as multinationals, to sell their products,” she said.
The Next Edition learnt that the event will begin simultaneously in all the five designated locations across the state.

Giwanson further stated that, there is however a slight change in Epe and Victoria Island venues.
“The location at Epe now changes from Epe Recreation Ground to Epe-Marina, Beachfront, Epe,” she said, adding that Eko Atlantic City will be used as the venue in Victoria Island.
The Next Edition also gathered that some of the artists expected to perform at the show include Olamide, Davido, Sunny Ade, Humble Smith, Small Doctor, Adewale Ayuba, Salawa Abeni, Ras Kimono, Pasuma and Saheed Osupa.
Speaking on the event, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, assured Lagos residents that there would be adequate security,
“Lagos State government is committed to providing security for everyone. If you attended the Lagos carnival earlier this month at Oba Akran, Ikeja, you would realise that we are ready for this event in terms of security. Lagos State will guarantee security for everyone,” he said.
