Kemi Adeosun: NYSC to probe alleged forgery of exemption certificate

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has declared that it will probe the case of alleged exemption certificate forgery by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

Adeosun, it was reported, did not take part in the compulsory service to the nation through the NYSC scheme, and allegedly forged the exemption certificate which she uses.

She was reported to have obtained the certificate in 2019.

Service to the nation, which the NYSC runs, is compulsory for all Nigerians who graduate from universities or equivalent institutions and are less than 30 years of age.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, the NYSC Director of Press, Mrs. Adeyemi Adenike, the NYSC would find out the origin of the allegedly forged exemption certificate said to be used by the minister.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to the issue of the alleged forgery of an NYSC exemption certificate by the Honorable Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun.

“Checking our records, Mrs. Adeosun did apply for an exemption certificate. We shall investigate the origin of the purported exemption certificate in question.”
