President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the reinstatement of the security aides of Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had withdrawn the security aides of the governor ahead of the coming governorship election in Anambra State.
He said his action was based on the need to create a level playing field for all.
The governor has since complained.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, and made available to The Next Edition, the governor also complained to the president on Wednesday.
The governor’s complaint to the president, Adesina said, was made when he (governor) was welcoming the president on arrival in Awka for the Grand Finale of the All Progressives Congress Governorship Rally.
Following the complaint, Adesina said, before departing Awka, Buhari directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Joshak Habila, to ensure the return of the governor’s security personnel.
It would be recalled that the Senate on Wednesday also directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to restore security aides of the governor within 24 hours.
The directive was sequel to a Point of Order raised by Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha, during plenary in Abuja.
The Upper Chamber also directed the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Abu Ibrahim, to ensure that the order was carried out and report back to the Senate on Thursday.
