Suspected Fulani herdsmen are said to have attacked Janibanibu village on the outskirts of Jalingo, forcing residents to flee.
The Punch reported that gunmen invaded the village, about 1 kilometre south-west of Jalingo, the state capital,on Monday evening shooting indiscriminately.

They were also said to have set houses ablaze.
The attack lasted for about 25 minutes before the attackers were engaged by soldiers and other security agencieswho repelled them.
