The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has rescinded his earlier decision not to allow the campaign rally of Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to hold at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.

The application by the PDP to use the stadium for their state campaign rally was turned down by the state government with flimsy excuses that the stadium was undergoing renovation work. The decision attracted condemnation from different quarters.
