ICPC Arrests 59 Staff Of A Federal Ministry

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, said it has arrested 59 staff of a Federal Ministry for alleged N3bn fraud.

It however failed to disclose the ministry involved.

A tweet on it official handle by its Chairman, Prof . Bolaji Owasanoye which disclosed this on Wednesday also said the Commission has also blocked the sum of N9bn from various agencies of government from being spent through it’s System Study and Review activity.

The Commission also said it was recording success in its Constituency Projects Tracking and that the second phase of the exercise would soon commence.

The tweet read: “ICPC has arrested 59 staff of a Federal Ministry for alleged N3bn fraud.

“The Commission has also blocked the sum of N9bn from various agencies of government from being spent through it’s System Study and Review activity.

“ICPC has seized 300 properties from different persons who allegedly acquired them through proceeds of crime.
“ICPC warns people or organisations that withhold information from anti-corruption to be ready for arrest and prosecution.

“The Commission is recording success in its Constituency Projects Tracking and will soon start 2nd phase of the exercise.

“The Commission’s collaboration with the National Social Investment Office is yielding results as arrests have been made for those that allegedly diverted funds meant for the poorest of the poor.

“ICPC is also in collaboration with the Police in curbing acts of corruption on the roads through road campaigns and joint operations.”
