Ibom Power Company Limited (IPC) on Sunday was awarded Africa’s Most Innovative Quality Power Generation Service Provider of the year 2017.
The award was organised by African Quality Institute in partnership with World Quality Alliance.
Ibom Power Company was given honoured in view of its remarkable achievement in the last one year.
Speaking on receiving the award, the Managing Director of Ibom Power Company, Engr. Meyen Etukudo, thanked the organisers of the award.
He spoke briefly on the feat attained by the company.
Said he: “Last year, Ibom power plant with 191MW capacity recorded 198 days of uninterrupted power generation.
“We also had 100% Safety Compliance consistent with the provisions of Federal Ministry of Environment….
“Of the 23 power generation companies in Nigeria, only Ibom Power was invited to the 2017 GE Frame 9E Users Conference in Dubai where Ibom Power presented a paper at the conference which was attended by more than 100 key customers in the Middle East and Africa.”
Etukudo added that Governor Udom Emmanuel was dedicated to ensuring that there was regular power supply in the state.
That was why, he said, Governor Emmanuel completed and commissioned a 2 x 15MVA substation at 4-lane which has ensured that parts of Uyo were currently enjoying at least 18 hours of steady and quality power supply.
