Popular Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has admitted in court that he’s a man.
Before sentencing him to six months imprisonment over Naira abuse, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, on Friday asked Okuneye to confirm his gender. Bobrisky responded, “I am a man.”
Bobrisky had granted several interviews and posted claims on his social media handles saying he had successfully undergone surgeries to transit to a woman.
He drums it into the ears of those who care to listen that he opted to transform her gender after realising that he would do better as a woman than a man. His other popular nickname is “Mummy of Lagos.”
His jail-term, according to the judge, would commence from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.
The Next Edition reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned him on a six-count charge.
Two of the charges were later dropped, while he pleaded guilty to Naira abuse, but pleaded for mercy as a first-time offender.
