Nigerian historical film, ‘Amina’ has risen to the top 10 trend list in 53 countries following its release on streaming platform, Netflix.
The feature film debuted earlier this month on November 4, 2021.
Izu Ojukwu, director of the film took to his Instagram page on Thursday, November 11, 2021, to announce the film’s success.

He wrote, “Made in 2015, now top 10 in 53 countries, no special feat. Special thanks to the entire cast for this global collaboration.”
It was co-produced by ‘Living In Bondage’ writer Okey Ogunjiofor and stars Lucy Ameh in the lead role alongside Clarion Chukwurah and Ali Nuhu.
Amina is a historical film that is based on warrior queen Amina of Zazzau, and it centers on her personal life journey.
