The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Governors Samuel Ortom and Aminu Tambuwal of Benue and Sokoto states on their victory at the just concluded governorship elections.
Atiku in a press release signed by his Media Adviser, Mr Paul Ibe said victories of the candidates of the PDP in both Benue and Sokoto states was an acknowledgement from the Nigerian people that it is the only truly national party in Nigeria.
Atiku Abubakar, who also congratulated the good people of Sokoto state assured them that they have made the right decision that will see them continue on the path to peace, progress and prosperity.
Atiku said Governor Samuel Ortom’s re-election was very well deserved adding that Mr. Ortom was not just a credit to the PDP but also an epitome of servant leadership which he urged all and sundry to emulate.

He said with Ortom at the helm of affairs in Benue, the people of the Food basket of the Nation should look forward to times of refreshing and deliverance.
Mr Atiku Abubakar also shared solidarity with Bala Mohammed and Abba Kabir Yusuf, who have made great showing in Bauchi and Kano states, respectively.
“Victory is within reach. They have shown that they are men of the people and we are convinced that much good will come out of these men of enviable talents and leadership ability.”
Atiku further congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and all its members on these gains saying they are an affirmation that the PDP is the true bastion of democracy and should be encouraged by these victories.
According to him, with united as one, the PDP would together continue to extend the boundaries of democracy and shrink the space occupied by tyranny.
