Governor Udom Emmanuel on Sunday, worshiped at the Victory Chapel Church, located inside the Town Campus, University of Uyo where he charged students to uphold morality and fear of God in their dealings to protect and promote the sanctity of the University and insure their future.
The Governor, reacting to recent reported cases of insecurity in the campus placed a curse on cultists and vowed to leave no stone unturned to ensure that lives of all students and indeed every life in the state is protected.
He reminded that he had placed a ban on cultism and assured that anyone caught will not be spared.
“I will do everything possible to ensure the safety of lives and property of Akwa Ibom people,” he assured.
He noted that when armed robbers are caught, “you discover that all of them are cultists, if we arrest 10 kidnappers, all of them turn out to be cultists.
“And when they are caught in that cross fire with our security agents, they travel, that is why you don’t see them again.”
Governor Emmanuel’s visit is the first by a sitting Governor to the students’ campus worship centre.
