The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, has ordered the immediate recall of a patrol team over incivility to a motorist.
The directive was contained in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, ACM Bisi Kazeem, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Biu said that the behaviour of the Egbeda Unit Command patrol team as captured on camera was a complete contravention of the FRSC standard operating procedure.
The Next Edition reported that a video of an officer who was a member of the patrol team went viral on Tuesday, showing the moment he was hitting a motorist who queried him for breaking his windscreen.

The broken windscreen was also shared, as people at the scene queried the officer for damaging the windscreen.
The statement read, “The provocative act as captured on camera is a complete contravention of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ standard operating procedures for officers on patrol operations.
“In that regard, the Corps Marshal has directed the Corps Intelligence Office as well as the Corps Provost Office to commence with immediate effect, a full and comprehensive investigation into the entire circumstances that propelled the officer into the uncivil act and make necessary recommendations for swift administrative action.”
The statement also stated that FRSC was an ISO certified organisation that would not condone indiscipline or compromise standards in rendering service to the public.
It added that “all necessary disciplinary actions recommended will be administered appropriately.”
