The Federal Government has approved the postponement of the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020.

This was disclosed by the Sports Minister in a series of tweets on his personal handle on Tuesday.

According to him, the postponement is as a result of the coronavirus outbreak for which Nigeria has recorded three confirmed cases.

He said the postponement became necessary to safeguard the spread of the virus in the country.

The tweet read: “Following the briefing of Mr. President from myself and the Minister of State for Health on COVID 19, Mr. President approved the immediate postponement of Edo Sports festival to a future date.”
