Dr. Kayode Fayemi has been sworn in as the new Governor of Ekiti State.
He was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Simeon Daramola, at an event attended by dignitaries.
It is Fayemi’s second coming, having occupied the same position between 2010 and 2014.
He was however ousted by Ayodele Fayose who has just left office.
Before he contested for the governorship post, he was the Minister of Solid Minerals.

Fayemi who is of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, former Peputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, and 33 other contestants.
His deputy is Chief Bisi Egbeyemi.
53 years old, Fayemi is from Isan-Ekiti in Oye local government area of Ekiti State.
Present at the event were the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapher; Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Ojaja II, among others.
