Arsenal fans have resumed the call for the football club manager, Arsene Wenger to be sacked after the club got hammered 4-0 by Liverpool football club.
Arsene Wenger who has been at the helm of affairs for over 20 years had his contract renewed last season despite similar calls, due to Arsenal’s poor performance in the league, which made them miss the UEFA Champions League spot for the first time in 20 years.
Arsenal’s loss to Liverpool sees them with three points after three games. In a league that gets more competitive with each season that passes by, Arsenal is getting weaker and the fans are worried. As a result, they are demanding that the French man should be sacked.
A prominent British journalist and television personality who is a diehard Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan, had this to say, “Worst Arsenal team and performance I’ve ever had the misery to endure. #WengerOUT”
A twitter user with the handle @WengerOut_BotIf created specifically for the campaign against Arsene Wenger said, “If you still support Arsene Wenger, then your support for Arsenal Football Club has to be questioned.
@Arsenaholic says, “I don’t give a shit about anyone leaving, none of them play for the club anymore. They are overrated and overpaid. Wenger out.”
Another fan of Arsenal, Jake Wood too to his twitter page to say, “‘Wenger should have gone over the summer. Not good enough.”
A twitter user @MrDtAFC was of the view that the manager has nothing left to offer. “Get out of my club, Wenger. You are finished and have been for quite< some time now!!!” he said.
@Gooner30HL opined that “Sad to see a once great football club being destroyed by one man’s arrogance, greed and megalomania”
The French man who is the second longest serving manager in the English Premier League is well aware of the calls for his sack by angry fans. In his response, he apologised for the teams dismal performance, saying that “That’s part of the crowd’s feeling, if I am the problem I am sorry.”
It remains to be seen if the club’s hierarchy would heed to the demand of the fans in the coming days or call their bluff of as usual.
