Five operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have been arrested over alleged extortion of N5, 000 from a woman.
The officers were attached to the command’s Rapid Response Squad, RRS.
According to a tweet on its official Twitter handle, the men were arrested at Ajah axis of Lagos and they were alerted to the crime by a post on Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba’s blog @frankmbablog.
The tweet also disclosed that the men were arrested on Friday but was however, silent on the victim of the extortion was and what led to the incident.
The tweet titled, ‘ Some Mothers Do Have Them,’ read: On info from the FORCE PRO @frankmbablog, that our officers at Ajah extorted N5, 000 from a lady; our Ops officers went in search, arrested and detained them at Alausa Headquarters of the squad.
“They will be transferred to the headquarters on Monday for trial.”
