LASG Rescues 12-year old Boy Assaulted By Mother

The Lagos State Government has rescued a 12-year-old boy in Agege assaulted by his mother.

The boy was rescued on Monday by officials of the Directorate of Citizens’ Rights (DCR).

This was disclosed by the Director of DCR, Mrs. Biola OSENI, who said the boy told officials during a visit to their home gathered that he was assaulted by his mother.

The incident occurred on Sunday at their residence, 64 Moricass Road, Agege.

It was through a video clip of the incident that went viral on Facebook, that the Lagos State DCR got involved.

The boy was seen on Facebook, covered with blood all over his body.

Speaking about the rescue, Mrs. Oseni, said: “The rescue team did not meet the mother but she was later sighted at a different location and was apprehended by government officials who took her to police custody for questioning.”

She said when the matter was presented at the police station; the woman’s husband was mandated to produce the boy while the woman was at the station.
Oseni said the woman may be charged to court on March 3.

Meanwhile, she disclosed that the boy had been taken to the Ministry of Youth and Social Development for placement in one of the state government’s facilities and for Other necessary actions.
