The Enugu State Government has recorded another confirmed case of coronavirus, bringing the number of cases in the state to four.
The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ikechukwu Obi, who announced the case in a statement on Saturday in Enugu said the new case was a 39- year-old who used to live and work in Lagos.
He said: “Recently this person travelled back to Enugu on the April 22, took ill subsequently and reported to a mission hospital in the state.
“The staff of the hospital alerted the state COVID-19 response team days later and samples were taken on April 29, which turned out positive on Friday, May 1.”

According to Obi, the new case is not a contact of the third case and the four cases reported in the state have had positive travel history.
He reiterated the call to the public to adhere to all precautionary measures to avoid contracting the virus and gave out toll free numbers people can call if they suspect they have symptoms.
“Call these numbers if you think you may have or know someone who may have Covid-19 symptoms.
