The Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force, Senator Bala Na’Ala has commended the youths in Benue state for remaining peaceful and orderly even in the face of the happenings in other parts of the country.
Senate Na’Ala made the commendation in Government House Makurdi, when he led members of his Committee on a courtesy visit to Governor Samuel Ortom.
Na’Ala who was accompanied by Senator Abba Moro representing Benue South, among others, explained that they were in the state on oversight function and as one of the foremost states that had given the Air Force comfort and accommodation to grow to where they are today, they felt the need to pay homage and thank the governor for doing a good job.
He noted that for Benue to remain peaceful in spite of what is going on in the country shows high level of control and good governance by the Governor.
“I have always said it, wherever there is stability and good governance, then we have less chaos. That we can traverse the length and breadth of Benue today in view of what is happening in our country, shows there is good governance and effective control.

“And out of my love and concern for Benue, I want to appeal to Benue people to remain who they are; being one of the most lawful extractions of this country as far as loyalty to the nation is concerned.”
He therefore urged the Benue Government and the people to ensure that the level of cordiality, civility and cooperation is maintained and taken to the next level.
Receiving the delegation, Gov. Ortom appealed to Nigerian leaders to take proactive measures towards addressing concerns of the END SARS protesters across the country.
The Governor noted that the happenings in Nigeria required proactive steps by all leaders irrespective of religious, ethnic and political sentiments, stressing that the agitations must not be treated with levity in order to rebuild confidence in the protesting youths.
He also stated that the challenges being presented by the protesters must be addressed appreciatively to ensure a Nigeria where justice, equity and fairness prevail at all times.
Gov. Ortom who acknowledged the importance of the Air Force formation in the state, said apart from securing lives and property, the Airforce has supported the state in areas such as education, water supply, fire extinguishing services as well as health.
He pledged that his administration will continue to cooperate and work together with the Airforce to ensure a better place for Nigerians.
