Easter: Dickson Calls for Love, Peace

Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa on Sunday, called on Nigerians to continue to live together in love, peace and unity as they celebrate Easter with other Christians across the world.

According to the governor, the attributes which formed the basis of Christ’s life and death, were prerequisites for the development of any society and should never be traded for anything.

He insisted that love truly conquers everything.

In an Easter message issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, on his behalf, Dickson advised that the attributes of love, peace and unity should never be traded for anything.

The governor reiterated that the crux of Jesus’ teaching was love and forgiveness and that his true followers must imbibe and project those qualities at all times, especially during Easter.

He said: “If we truly love ourselves, there will be no political killings, brigandage, banditry being experienced in some parts of the country.

“If there is genuine love among us, this country will be better for it.”

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to the security of lives and property as well as socio-economic development of the state, not minding the few months left in his tenure.
