The year, 2018, has been an awesome year for Duncan Mighty. The Port Harcourt bred producer and singer has, arguably, had the best comebacks in the history of Nigerian music industry.
Duncan Mighty has been featured in almost all the hit songs in 2018. His flavour is found in most of the songs as he is currently the favourite in the Nigerian music industry with most people seeking a bit of his magic.
This has earned the 35-year-old musician a well-deserved spot as one of the nominees in the upcoming Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA).
Before the release of his 2018 hit featuring Wizkid “Fake Love,” his popularity had waned to the extent that Nigerians didn’t hear so much about him.
“Fake Love” which has become the rave of the moment has recorded a massive success and announced the massive comeback of Mighty. For so many weeks, social media was abuzz with fans of both stars arguing on the theory that Wizkid revived Duncan Mighty’s career. He went ahead and featured on over 16 songs in the last four months and most of them have been hits.
In June, Ceeza Milli, an Aristokrat Records act, featured him on his track “Sabi,” Tiwa Savage featured Mighty in her hit song “Lova Lova” in which he brought in so much flavour.
Reekado Banks of Mavin Records also featured him on his track titled “Bio Bio,” Davido also tapped into the musician’s prowess and teamed up with Perruzi and Duncan Mighty to create their monster hit track “Aza.”
In a bit to revive his music career, Lil Kesh tapped into these blessings and featured Duncan in his current hit song “Flenjo.” The song which has Duncan Mighty’s flavour has already made waves throughout the country and beyond.

Others who featured him include B-Red, Bracket and DJ Xclusive.
Recently, Duncan was seen with the legendary 2Baba, and rumour has it that we should be expecting something magical from the lyrical legends.
What made it easy for Wene Mighty to have such a great comeback? Though he gave a stellar verse in “Fake Love,” many people are of the opinion that it became a hit song as people were already getting tired of the popular “shaku shaku” tune which had become a bit of a cliché in the Nigerian music industry. So, it was a breath of fresh air to have a new melody to soak up to.
Also, if you were a fan of Duncan Mighty way back in 2008 when he released his debut album “Koli Water” which had lots of hit songs, including “Obianuju,” “Dance for Me,” “Port Harcourt son” and many others, you would definitely have a nostalgic feeling after listening to his current featured hit singles.
How will Duncan Mighty earn the legendary status and leave a legacy? With more than 16 features down the line, it is time for Duncan Mighty to re-strategize, experiment and evolve more as everything is beginning to sound same and might become stale.
Remember, Nigerians are the kings of moving on and would definitely move onto a new vibe. Also, he needs to slow down and be more selective on how he accepts every feature and finally put out more meaningful lyrics that will stand the test of time.
