Only 76 of the 110 girls kidnapped from Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe State, by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, were released.
This was made known by the Presidency on Wednesday
The girls who were kidnapped in their school on February were released on Wednesday.
Correcting the earlier figure of 105 girls, the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said the process of releasing the remaining girls was ongoing.
As it is, there are still 34 girls in captivity.

Disclosing that the release was made through a “back channel effort,” Mohammed said the release was without condition.
“For the release to work, the government had a clear understanding that violence and confrontation would not be the way out as it could endanger the lives of the girls, hence a non-violent approach was the preferred option.
”Within the period when the girls were being brought back, operational pause was observed in certain areas to ensure free passage and also that lives were not lost,” he said.
He however promised to update the number of the freed girls after documentation.
The girls, he said, were not handed to anyone in particular, but dropped off in Dapchi where they were later picked up.
